Events in Crescent Head were been put on hold due to the huge swell that hit yesterday. Your intrepid 6Ps correspondent took to the surf yesterday and was part of a select few who enjoyed solid swell and challenging conditions to record the number 1 surf day had in crescent for a long time.
Waves up to 6ft were pumping around the Point and walling up through to the beach. My 7S fish flyer performed like a flying machine!
I was further blessed by sharing these waves with none other than Fletcher Hayllar, a flawless surfer that shone way and above the crowd of about 10 intrepid surfers in challenging conditions.
The bottom line was no post yesterday, surfed, survived, partly recovered, ate and went to bed absolutely exhausted.
So, today is bigger and beginning to develop as the tide is starting to run out to a low tide later in the day.
Todays feature photos include all manner of things important to eating, surfing and pure solitude and enjoyment.
You will note that EAT READ LOVE now appears on my blog for easy access. Check it out for informative reading and a step away from the surf content of 6Ps.
Everyone that comes to Crescent knows this place.....hmmm ?
The "checking it out" syndrome.....go on - get out there!!!
The size is deceptive believe me. This was majic Thursday.
Yep, thanks to Low Pressure systems.
This morning while awaiting the tide change a trip was taken down to Point Plomer and more on this story tomorrow. Although it would be remiss of me not to mention that at this time of year I couldn't help but think what a beautiful and truly remote part of the coast this can be without the holiday makers.
Words to provoke thought
When you go out into surf that is pumping and challenging............make sure you can duck dive well.
Aloha.
