Someone once said to me never look back, just keep on going. Pretty good words of advice really.
The one thing I have learnt however, is it is ok to look back, but only when you are looking forward.
Confused?
Well at times you are pleased with where you are in life's mysterious roundabout and wonder why it is so. Thats a good time to reaffirm where you started out and got to where you are now. So, while it is not a complete look back it is a glance over your shoulder and I reckon that's ok. It seems to make looking forward easier.
At 6Ps we are eagerly awaiting the final edit of our filming from the water during the Old Mal contest held in Crescent Head. As soon as we have it we will post it to this blog for your viewing pleasure.
As you can see we have been doing a bit of down memory lane lately with the Old Mal contest and the expected age group and a fine array of old style riding and a semi trip back down the time tunnel.
Having said that, the guy that won was in his twenties so there ya go.
( Alex Knost doing a bit of style extravagance)
6Ps was also lucky enough to hook up with some ladies who were having their 45 year reunion. These lovely ladies all surfed together in 1967 on longboards and reunited recently to rekindle the friendship. They were all bloody good women!
In 1967 the first "revolutionary" surf film was produced by Paul and John Witzig and named the "Hot Generation". It reflected the times particularly well. The Vietnam war was becoming messy, youths were growing their hair long and the old standards of behaviour were starting to be broken.People were on the streets protesting about anything and everything. Pretty cool really.
Anyway, our walk down memory lane may be a little self indulgent, but as always 6Ps tries to bring a smile to the face of its followers and something to lighten up the day.
So...........................................here we go the trailer to....................THE HOT GENERATION
