Just Beautiful Things

6Ps is delighted to bring you in todays post - just beautiful things.

Beautiful things are open to interpretation and therefore you as the viewer will be the judge of that. However, we have collected some nice pictures and thoughts to brighten up your day and get your head anywhere but work or those tedious daily bummers.

The Crescent Head "tabs" above are beginning to build with information and we hope to be able to assist those visiting the area with some personally managed accommodation, surfing, tours, art visits and much much more. Stay in touch as we make further announcements.

In the meantime the film "13" is in it's final stages of production and a launch is anticipated in February 2013 with an opening premier in Crescent Head. This film is about the waves of the mid north coast, ordinary people doing extraordinary things on waves and nature playing to delighted lenses.

Our 6Ps editor was fortunate to meet a young surfer named Matt Chojnacki, who on his way up to Noosa had a stop over and surf at Creso. Otherwise known as "the waxhead"you can view him on Instagram.

This young guy was a pleasure to meet. Down to earth and fully stoked on his surfing genre. An absolute fountain of knowledge on all things surfing, but especially on the long board era and the transition period of surfing around 1968-1972. He is also a keen car enthusiast and is generally seen in pre 1970s vehicles. (sponsored by Quiksilver, Uppercut and Mc Tavish surfboards)

Those regular readers of this blog may recall the post titled "In the Beginning" wherein the stories of yesteryear were delicately exposed through the "super surfers" of a bygone era that in reality they didn't belong. Well Matt could run rings around them with the actual events and how the era actually was in minute detail. I'm not sure of his age but somewhere sub 28ish, and either he has read every book, researched every known history site and sought out every surfer who actually mattered or he has been reincarnated! His knowledge of surfing is extraordinary. I think Bob McTavish is not one to sponsor those who lay bullshit down.

Anyway, interesting individual and worth looking for him around the breaks.

The Waxhead.

A soon to be released film. 6Ps is attending the opening night and is stoked in any film maker risking all to follow the dream. Go Nathan Oldfield:

"The Heart & the Sea" by Nathan Oldfield
presented by Common Ground
A surfing movie premiere
The Heart & The Sea is the third release from independent Australian filmmaker Nathan Oldfield, the creator of the highly regarded left of centre surf films Lines From a Poem and Seaworthy.

Over three years in the making, The Heart & The Sea explores the joy that lies at the very centre of a surfing life: family, friends and a shared intimacy with the sea. Filmed in Australia, New Zealand, France and Spain, this is a gently refreshing & quietly enchanting contribution to the surf film genre.

Beautifully captured and sensitively crafted, The Heart & The Sea features Dave Rastovich, Lauren Lindsey Hill, Alex Knost, Tom Wegener, Sage Joske, Brett Caller, Johnny Abegg, Kassia Meador, Clovis Donizetti, Belinda Baggs, Paul Joske, Ryan Burch, Chris Del Moro, Matt Chojnacki, Jared Mell, Dane Peterson, Harrison Roach & many others.

"Nathan Oldfield is a maverick, a filmmaker who wants a surf movie to say something important, to move us and make us grateful for the sea around us and the life within us. His films are quiet, beautiful and brimming with sacred purpose." TIM WINTON

Nathan Oldfield is a husband/father/surfer/shaper/filmmaker/photographer/writer/school teacher/bonsai enthusiast/sea gazer from the Central Coast of New South Wales, Australia. He is interested in documenting beautiful things & making stuff.

The summer rhythm
As the weather hots up and the wetsuits are stashed away, nature begins it's summer cycle of late storms, birds getting settled and the ocean coming alive with smaller fish and active sea life, we look forward to another season of great swell. Last year was epic and the crowds reasonably behaved.

This year should produce the same conditions and as the rhythm dictates we will venture into the ocean and wash away the last of the winter skin.

Just Beautiful.....

Aloha
