After the Rain

Todays post is a small collection of film ( over 5 mins) of the surf that appeared after the storms hit the North coast. The water was muddy, the surfers keen, the weather perfect, and well it was good to "seek shelter from the storm".........

The music used in this film is that of our friend Robert Zimmerman aka Bob Dylan. The words surprisingly match the footage and as usual I have included some tongue in cheek vision. Interestingly YouTube has warned that this video and subsequent music is banned in some countries.......My guess would be Palestine and countries similar in location except Israel.

The surfers in this video are a collection of locals and some visitors from the northern beaches of Sydney. You will be able to identify the difference with ease.

If drugs are used as an analogy the mid north coast surfers are more a marijuana stoke, that is, slower have far more rhythm and are more likely to give waves away and know there are more to come. They also have very interesting conversations after the surf and seem to devour food to feed up for the next surf.

The city cousins are more the cocaine fuelled rip, tear ,bust and woohoo all over the waves types. The pace they surf at is blinding and their moves are often followed by sniffing at a rapid pace. I am still unsure if it is the water in their nostrils or the blood pouring from their heads after hanging upside down in waves.

Anyway I love both styles and it is far more entertaining than my beer surfing which is predominately stumble, trip and cause havoc amongst those who are on enhanced alternatives.

Back to the clip.........You will recognise yourself in this clip, I think some of the more light hearted moments have happened to all of us. Check the guy who paddles through a bunch of girls and the pruning and eye directions.
