Winter and Content-Crescent Head

Officially winter has arrived - June 1st. With it has come clear days cool nights and surf that has been like an orchestrated rhythm........high tide - full and fun.......low tide.....fast and furious.

The 6Ps team have now completed its 12 month anniversary of living and exploring the mid north coast. The first post of 6Ps was back in July 2011. I think there was a post dedicated to rhythm some time ago, but now having lived and breathed this magical place, I am recognising those beautiful events and senses that welcomed me 12 months ago. Yes the rhythm of seasons, tides, surf, birds, people and all that nature delivers over a 12 month cycle. Truly a "smell the roses" 12 months.

One of the biggest discoveries for me is country living. It's a return to the early 70s movement of leaving the city and living a simple life in the country and surf all day - summed up in the movie "Morning of the Earth" . It is about living with nature, treading lightly, and non consumerism.

Ironically, Albie Falzon, creator of the Morning of the Earth, lives in the district and frequents Crescent Head for a surf. Just casual conversation with him reveals the same attitude and principles captured in the film. Nothing flashy about Albie, no brand clothes, no flashy car, just a respect for the land and ocean.

Ahh....sunset, a few beers, clean air.

So, after 12 months, 6Ps is almost anxious to enjoy the next 12 months and see the seasons and crowds change. A lot more time will be spent on getting the vegie patch right and capturing more things on camera, both still and film. The gift of sharing is far greater than receiving.

6Ps main aim is to give, and leave you with a smile.

This whale decided to give a "high there" off the point a couple of days ago.

The filming is taking a 2 week holiday due to the surf calling. Predictions are good and I ain't gunna miss it!! I have included the short film "Living" in todays post as it was one of my favourites and sums things up.

The video below is "Little Black Wheels" by "Little House productions". It has a few name surfers in it including Rasta, Ry Craike and others. While it is only a promotional film it captures the essence of travelling with family and discovering Australia.

Great shot of cruising

 Cutbacks-----just love 'em

So it's a welcome to a winter of content.......short days but full of sun - great surf and off shore winds - uncrowded - rejuvenation. Sunsets to lay down and worship and red wine to warm the heart.

Aloha
