Ocean born - whales and humans

The magic month of July has produced huge numbers in whale migration and surfing conditions that make you feel a little insignificant as a human.

Nature has provided a daily hit of its magic.

Todays post features a video named "Ocean Born". I highly recommend that those people who cannot activate YouTube via this site, or for some other firewall reason (usually from a work environment) to take the time to view this on an alternate computer. The whales, sights, colours, rugged coast and ocean  bring all things into perspective.

Crescent Head has enjoyed a few good weeks of surf and now with school holidays over the numbers in the water are less "rushed".

I have delayed the post on helpful equipment advice as there has been so much going on in the water and with mother nature, I have not had enough time to collect all the appropriate material. However, I have begun to collect some good stuff...stay tuned.

The pictures above are not local, but keep you searching for the allusive wave.

One of the pleasures of exploring the world of photography and film is the people you get to meet. Of course when you are chasing whales or surf action it limits the type of person. So every now and again I go to places to meet the finer photographer, below is a couple of examples:

Ocean Born

Ocean Born is a video that took quite some time to create. It started out as a look at the coast and its beauty, with very limited surfing. The reasoning was to create something different from just a surf video and full on surfing. While that still remains the main objective of the 6Ps team, we wanted to test the tolerance of our followers by incorporating things we see as complimentary to surfing.

When speaking to surfers on the mid North coast, both locals and visitors, it is plain that the majority love the openness and beauty that surrounds them while surfing. Endless trees spreading from the white sand back as far as the eye can see and sea life jumping around everywhere.

Its not just the action on a perfect wave but the things that are around you. Quite often forgotten on city beaches.

While this video may be predominately whales, there is enough in to hopefully bring that "feeling" to you. After all a feeling is a hard thing to translate on film.

The surf is building over the next 3-4 days with off shore winds on the point at Crescent Head. It is almost with some guilt that I actually advise everyone of this due to the local territory rule. Having said that I would expect that any visitors reading this site actually have etiquette in the surf.

To anyone looking for a sea change and an income, the Crescent Head fruit shop is still for sale and is a genuine solid business. Its not a multi million dollar making machine but does provide a great lifestyle. For more information please contact me via the email on this site or with those with my phone number give me a call. The current owner - Hope Ailsa - has decided to sail around the world so her lifestyle is certainly getting more adventurous!!

Aloha
