Quikie Pro and distractions

Todays post is from Sydney and features a set of photos taken on the North Coast.

The Quiksilver Pro is well and truly underway on the Gold Coast and is setting high standards in surfing.

While I am not a full on fan of the WCT I must admit the standard of surfing and people "having a go" is a pleasure to watch. The young blokes and ladies are throwing caution to the wind and doing some incredible things in conditions that are not ideal.

I must admit Parko has found some new energy and speed and to me looks a more in tune surfer with todays high flyers and zappers. He has dug deep to reinvent and congratulations thus far to him.

The likes of Owen Wright and Julian Wilson are just an absolute pleasure to watch and amaze me with there vertical moves. The Brazilians are all having a go and are so powerful it amazes me how they don't snap a limb.

And of course Kelly Slater just continues to improve. I think we are seeing a once in a lifetime sportsman.

Congratulations to Quiksilver on a great event and the use of technology to keep everyone in touch with the event. Being able to watch the event on the phone must be great for those at work and wanting to escape the grind.

Anywho.....I am Sydney for the final inspection on my arm by the Doctor to allow me to get back in the water. (followers of this blog will recall my detached tendons.) 3 months has been an eternity but once back in the water I will be certainly be more aware of my old bodies restrictions.

Enjoy the photos - A collection of day dreaming sky staring. A momentary distraction from the Quikie

Aloha
