Welcome to the Jungle

Nestled in the ground on Menjagan Island in Bali lay this rather cute stone. "Wellcome to the Jungle" it really has many meanings depending on where you are and what you are doing I guess, but to me it has a double meaning.

One means to actually welcome someone to a jungle full of all things nature and sounds that are mysterious.

The other meaning is exactly the same except replace nature with humans and sounds with noises that are obvious.

Although the 6Ps crew felt a little uneasy in natures jungle from time to time, we were never really worried by the things nature showed us or the sounds we did not understand. Concerned, but not worried. On the other hand , humans never really show who they are and have many complex sides to them. The sounds in their jungle are usually man made and are a threat to your wellbeing. For example....the sound of a horn usually means you are in the way so get out of the way or I will run you over. Or..........the sound of a jet taking off is...we are going on holidays all 200 of us, so the thousand odd people on the ground below us can just shut up and go deaf while we have an inflight cocktail.

Natures jungle v/s Human jungle

Anyway it is just another observation on life made by some weird people who make films. Having said that, we are trying to create a name for our next film and it could very well be "Welcome to the jungle". After all there are parallels everywhere with jungles, and surfing can quite easily fit that description. We have been collecting heaps of film and continue to capture some unusual surf and surfers.

The 2013 Crescent Head Malibu Classic DVD is pleasing many an old salty dog. While 6Ps prefers to create film rather than film an event, we were pleased to bring the classic to those who could not make it and to those who were captured on film.
