6Ps: Islands of God and God delivered.......and it ain't Australia

There is a bit of a saying in Australia, and it goes something like this............"What a great day!! the sun is warm, the place is looking fantastic, great vibe happening, arrrggghhh it's Gods country isn't it?"

It is another way of saying we live in the best country in the world and God created it for us.You know.......a little bit like the US of A. Everything is perfect, only we know how to live and the rest of the world (and for some Americans that may be their neighbouring state as little of the world is known or cared about - except for those they are converting to democracies...........another story).

I guess being Australian I do think we live in a great country, but the 6Ps crew are hounding me about it being Gods Country.

6Ps Photography

You see when you travel to places like Indonesia and specifically in our case Bali and Lombok, you are continually reminded of God(s). If it isn't in the many Hindu and Muslim structures it simply in the colours and beauty of the place....Goddam......some sights are so intense and the colours so vivid it just simply must have been created, not evolved. Not to mention the beauty of the people and their deeply held worship of their God(s). Unlike us westerners who worship money and status, these people actually worship a God in a God like atmosphere!!!

Three times poorer and three times happier. Be surrounded by islands that dart out of the see like a vertical mountain, sunsets and sunrises that are on fire, smells of spices and fresh fire wood burning and people that will not hurt you for fear of karma and yep...........sounds a little different than Australia, and certainly different from the US of A. All this happens in a space no larger then a capital city of Australia. Go figure.

6Ps Photography

Have a few volcanoes overlooking your backyard, and not much space to run if a sinami hits and I reckon you would be praying every day to someone or something - but hey - no money needed, you can't buy your way out of that sort of trouble my little european debt recovery cavaliers.

So, like everything in life travelling opens your mind to what is possible, what is impossible and tolerance. What we particularly like at 6Ps is that the people who inhabit these wonderful Islands can't afford to travel but they tolerate us and our drunken ways.

Nothing is enhanced with these photos or surf footage. The colours are as they are. Bloody amazing, no enhancement required.

The 6Ps crew were blessed we had a week of big swell not seen for quite some time and we caught it on film. Predominately at the breaks along the Ulluwatu peninsular, Padang Padang and Impossibles........we hope you enjoy our short taste of the live action below.
