I can always remember when I was a child I wanted to be a veterinary surgeon. All the kids in my street continually asked the question - What are you going to be when you grow up?
Then one day I was physically grown up and working, not in my childhood area of veterinary pursuits, but sort of grown up. Do you really ever grow up? My mind is that child like it has taken me a long time to accept the fact that ---- yes I have grown up.
How do I really know this?
Quietly sitting under the shade beside the sea, with perfect light and and a warmth that is comfortable. Sounds of waves crashing, birds talking to each other and the breeze moving the leaves in the trees enough to create a slight background sound.
This is the time I have arrived. Yes I have grown up and arrived. In the end it had nothing to do with "what are you gong to be when you grow up?" - It is, however, a time when you actually sense all the elements, you realise there is a natural order of things and you melt into its place and time.
Spiders and Hairy legs
The response to my story on Spiders and Hairy legs has been overwhelming.....I have had over 100 hits from Russia alone on this story. How strange they must think this little Aussie battler must be.
I am very appreciative of this support and encourage all those people to stay tuned to 6Ps blogspot.
As a post script to this story, I have been rubbing chook manure on my legs to encourage more hair growth. Strangely though, I am continually being urinated upon by the local dogs, who run up to me, have a sniff and lift their leg on my leg calf.
The Easter crowds are still enjoying the Crescent Head vibe but will all be heading home this Saturday, then it will be uncrowded waves and locals again.
So.............today I have included a short film named "Arrive". The music, words, and scenery is about the moment you have grown up and arrived. Comfortable with what the earth and nature provides, and melting into it looking at every detail and being satisfied.
ARRIVE
( This film is also on Vimeo - link at side of page)
Upcoming films will include "Eating for the surfer" or Milo's Kitchen is unruly.
Aloha
